The marketing services provided by Circle Creative Communications have been invaluable to WWF Northern Ireland. From simple design requirements to advice on a marketing campaign, Circle is always ready and able to help. WWF is the second most recognised charity brand in the world after the Red Cross and Circle performs easily within our brand guidelines. I can vouch for Circle as I’ve used them for over five years.
Some examples of Circle’s service to WWF Northern Ireland include:
1. New Office Graphics
The bold new window graphics and signage designed by Circle have allowed WWF to stand out and yet fit in with our new Cathedral Quarter neighbours. This was key to our presence being visible in this quirky, arts quarter of the city.
2. RIPPLE Project
Circle has provided numerous materials for the RIPPLE project – a community based river basin management project based in the Ballinderry catchment, Cookstown, used as an exemplar to the rest of Northern Ireland and indeed now the UK and Europe. The RIPPLE project has numerous audiences from the public and commuity volunteers to the local council and MLAs of Stormont. Circle renovated the RIPPLE brand from a tired position with a refreshed logo, new banners, literature, and even a time tunnel!
The RIPPLE Action Plan has gained us many congratulations, with WWF-UK Head of Freshwater Programmes, Dave Tickner commenting,
“Having seen river basin management plans from China, Europe and the Americas, this RIPPLE plan is the best I’ve seen. Its simple, direct communication messages with enticing design make it easy to follow. I will be taking this as an exemplar plan across the world.”
Whilst Dave’s comments were much about the content, he also thoroughly endorsed the design which brought to life what was originally just an excel spreadsheet!
More recently Circle designed and created a time tunnel for our RIPPLE Volunteer Appreciation Event in December 2009. This was a loose concept from us which Circle managed to make real with beautiful designs and even a smoke machine! Circle also managed an unexpected snow crisis, ensuring the third party suppliers delivered the ‘other worldly’ experience
to our volunteers.
3. WWF Northern Ireland Brochure
With a background as the panda people, Circle has managed to encapsulate our brand with a genuine Northern Irish presence, showing our local work in our new WWF Northern Ireland brochure. Darren has put his innovative creativity to work producing a stand out design that tells our WWF Northern Ireland story that is adaptable to use across a broad range of communication tools: such as a series of banner stands, MLA briefing papers and reports; and across our audiences from the general public to the government and media.
As WWF Northern Ireland ventures further into the Web 2.0 world with e-campaigns and social media networking, Circle are able to help design the look of the online communications. When we moved offices and without a suitable email system, Circle not only designed an engaging email invitation but were able to source an internet company who could help us send out the on-mass email invitation.
Circle has created a number of props for WWF Northern Ireland from the WWF’s Earth Hour giant light-switch which helped the Lord Mayor for the Environment Minister to receive our petition. Not only are these eye-catching props delivering great press coverage for us but they are the envy of the other WWF offices across the UK.
As well as quickly and cost-effectively creating many quality brochures, plans, reports, leaflets etc from scratch, Circle have also adapted and reproduced WWF International materials for WWF Northern Ireland for our participation in WWF’s global campaigns; whether that’s adapting them for a local audience or simply ensuring a fast turn-around on reproduction.
As an environmental charity WWF Northern Ireland have high standards in our print requirements. From using the WWF FSC approved paper to recycled materials where possible, Circle are able to perform within our strict requirements whilst still sourcing reasonable quotes and delivering a cost-effective job.
All of the work commissioned to Circle has been completed on time, within budget. But more than this Circle are easy to work with, whether they are inspiring me when I want fresh ideas or am unsure about something or simply reacting quickly and calmly to a last minute change or an urgent communication need. And this is where they go one step further than most graphic agencies, its not just about the design, Circle’s marketing knowledge is outstanding and they are able to work with an entire campaign from every angle. Julie’s marketing understanding is fantastic, whilst practical.
